Susan Taylor Brown - Author and Speaker

"But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling like dew upon a thought,
produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think." Lord Byron

WELCOME TO
MY RESOURCE ROOM

The Internet is a great help to writers. It gives us easy access to research, a way to reach out to other writers, a place to give and receive instruction, and some fun ways to procrastinate when we should be writing. I've tried to gather information and links that will be of help to writers at all stages of careers as well as people who don't necessarily write but love words. Since I'm a great procrastinator, I imagine this area to grow rapidly.

Writing Classes & Workshops
A few places where you can get professional writing instruction including online classes taught by me.

Editing Services
Professional editors and paid critiquing services by professional writers.

Reference Shelf
Here you'll find places to read book reviews online, libraries all across the cyber-world, and a huge selection of online dictionaries and encyclopedias.

Networking for Writers
This covers many professional writing organizations from Society of Children's Book Writers to Mystery Writers of America and more.

Magazines
Although I read a great number of online newsletters and Ezines I still love to hold the paper magazines in my hands. Here's a collection of writing magazines and newsletters that come the old-fashioned way, by the U.S. Postal Service.

Links for Writers
Yes, this closely resembles my personal bookmarks but it is much more organized.  It includes links for young people who want to write, links to help those who want to write for children, and some of my favorite places to find great quotes about writing. (In addition to the quotes page on this site, of course.)

Ezines
I think everyone must be getting at least one Ezine newsletter nowadays. There are some wonderful general writing ones as well as some targeting to a specific area of writing. Check them out.

Bookstores
Not just where to shop (online and in your neighborhood) but some neat searches on how to find the best prices on a book.

Do you know of someone who is teaching an online writing class that should be listed here? Do you get a great writing newsletter that I should know about? What are your favorite writing links? Share them with me and I'll add them to these pages.
